Taking on new builds

I build software that doesn’t break at 3am.

Senior engineer for AI, crypto, fintech and SaaS products. Fifteen years of shipping systems that move real money and real traffic, from the first line of code to the AWS it runs on.

Proof, not promises

Systems that hold up when it counts

Rescue

A legacy .NET system, moved to a modern stack

The SQL queries behind it took a full minute. I refactored the system and migrated it to a modern stack.

Crypto

3

perpetual crypto exchanges, built and shipped

Real money, around the clock. The kind of system where a bad night isn’t an option.

AWS

Whole AWS setups in Terraform

Every environment rebuilt from code with one command. No clicking around the console.

Scale

Millions of requests

Traffic went up. Response times stayed flat. Nobody got paged.

What I build

From the first commit to the cloud it runs on

  • Crypto & fintech

Exchanges and the systems around them, where downtime costs real money.

  • AI products

AI features and agents that do real work for real users. In production, not in a demo.

  • SaaS & marketplaces

CRMs, chat, SaaS platforms and marketplace tools, built to grow past version one.

  • AWS infrastructure

Secure, scalable AWS setups written in Terraform and owned by you.

  • Rescues

Slow, fragile systems refactored and moved to a modern stack.

  • Something else?

If it has to work, tell me about it.

How it works

From first message to working software

  1. 01

    Tell me what you’re building

Two minutes in the form below. No deck, no NDA needed to start.

  2. 02

    Get a plan

Within two working days: how I’d build it, the risks I see, and what it would take.

  3. 03

    Start with one milestone

A fixed price for working software you can click, so you see the quality before you commit to more.

  4. 04

    I stay on

On a monthly retainer I keep building, and keep it running at 3am.

Who you’ll work with

One senior engineer, end to end

I’m Faris. I’ve been shipping production software for fifteen years, from Hamburg, for teams in the US and Europe.

You work with me directly: I write the code, set up the cloud and answer your messages. No account managers, no juniors learning on your budget. I take on a small number of builds at a time, so each one gets my full attention.

  • TypeScript
  • React
  • Next.js
  • Node.js
  • React Native
  • AWS
  • Terraform
  • AI models

A good fit if

  • You’re building something that handles money, data or serious traffic.
  • You want one senior engineer who owns it end to end.
  • You’d rather pay once to build it right than twice to rebuild it.

Not a fit for

  • Throwaway prototypes and quick hacks.
  • Projects that only need someone to close tickets.

Questions

Before you ask

Something else on your mind? Book a 30-minute call

Will I work with you, or with a team?

With me, directly. I write the code, set up the cloud and answer your messages.

You’re in Hamburg. What about time zones?

I work with teams in the US and Europe. My afternoons overlap with US East Coast mornings, and production problems don’t wait for office hours anyway.

How do you charge?

A first milestone at a fixed price, then a monthly retainer. You get a clear number after we talk, before anything starts.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. Rescuing slow or fragile systems is some of my favourite work, like the .NET system above.

What do you build with?

TypeScript, React, Next.js, Node.js and React Native, AWS with Terraform, and whichever AI models fit the job. I’ve also moved legacy .NET systems onto modern stacks.

I read every message myself. Within two working days you get a reply with:

  • How I’d build it
  • The risks I see
  • What it would take, in time and money

I also print a newspaper

The Daily Commit is my other front page: a live news wire, a science desk, puzzles, classifieds and a rubber duck, reprinted every hour. Built for fun, and to show what a website can still be.

  • Live wire: AI, engineering and startup news
  • A halftone front page rendered in WebGL
  • A mini crossword and a horoscope for your dependencies
